Pediatric Care Now: What Is It?

WALSENBURG, CO - AUGUST 05: Elizabeth Mason h...Image by Getty Images via @daylifePediatrics is medical care for children offered from birth to age twenty one. While family doctors and general practitioners treat patients of all ages, pediatricians treat only children. Pediatricians provide everything from well child checkups and immunizations to treatment for ADHD and illnesses. A parent may decide that their child needs pediatric care now if their child shows signs off illness or injury, and take their child to a pediatrician. Pediatricians run their offices as general doctors do, with regular office hours.

Pediatric care now pediatricians who see a patient from birth or infancy can build trust with the child. A child who has seen the same pediatric doctor for several years may look forward to well child visits. Children who switch doctors often, or do not have one specific doctor that they see may fear an office visit. Typically pediatricians offices are child friendly, with child sized items and toys.

Pediatricians are specially trained to relate and communicate with children, and usually go into the field because they like kids. If your child is suffering from asthma, a sore throat, or a tummy ache, consider a pediatric doctor over a family doctor and see the difference in patient care and atmosphere for yourself.
